The main difference between group and team is in group performance depends upon the performance of the individual members whereas in team the peformance depends on both individual contributions and a collective work products. Members of groups put their resources to attain a goal although it is individual performance that is taken into consideration when it comes to issuing rewards. Members of groups usually doesn't take responsibility for any results other than their own.

In group Goal: Share Information, Synergy: Neutral, Accountability: Individual and Skills: Random and Varied whereas in Team Goal: Collective Performace, Synergy: Positive, Accountability: Mutual and Skills: Complementary.
